Past, present and future

Well it's been a while since our last update, Liverpool Design Fair was a great success. All of the designers has a lot of interest and the stand was very well received. We managed to take some of the sights of Liverpool and even made it to the Penny Lane Wine Bar.

Since then we've all been working away in our separate workshops and it looks like it's paid off in awards. Even whilst travelling the world Zoe Watts has found time to fit in a few awards, receiving both a silver award in the 'Junior Chasers' award and was commended in the 'Junior Silversmiths' section at the Goldsmiths Craftmanship and Design Awards. The same night our very own cutlery queen Louise Walker has been taking the silversmithing world by storm, winning not one, not two, but three awards at the Goldsmiths Craftmanship and Design Awards. Louise was awarded the Gold Award from the London Assay Office 'Special Award for 3D Design Technology Innovation',
along with a cash prize. She was also awarded the Gold Award for '3D Design Technology Innovation'. Finally, she received the Silver Award in the '3D Design Silversmith' section. 8 March '11.

Back in Scotland Pauline Edie won herself the Edinburgh Craft Maker Award, for her new collection of porcelain and silver jewellery. This collection was recently exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh. Since we last left her Amy Wood has been accepted to the highly respected 'Design Space' in Birmingham and has been run off her feet taking part in various exhibitions throughout England. Gemma Scully has been working hard launching her new website which is nearly ready in addition to her usual busy exhibition workload.

And onto the next. Whilst Zoe explores South America, the other whitespacers have been bracing ourselves for our next show. British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate begins in 11 days, lets hope all of our I's and T's are dotted and crossed in time! Most of all we're looking forward to a lovely cup of tea at the famous "Betty's" tearoom, we'll save you a 'fat rascal'
